Inflammatory bone loss is a signature feature and severe consequence of many inflammatory disorders, including inflammatory arthritis. The underlying mechanisms of bone resorption and metabolism in inflammatory settings are largely unknown. This session will highlight novel discoveries in bone metabolisms and inflammatory bone resorption. Dr. Laura Calvi will discuss the efferocytosis by bone marrow stromal cells and its effects on bone metabolism. Dr. Gabriel Mbalaviele will discuss the key role of inflammasomes in bone resorption. Dr. Jae-Hyuck Shim will discuss the molecular mechanisms of RA joint damage.
