Teresa Tarrant is Vice Chief of Translational Research in Rheumatology and a Clinical Immunologist at Duke University. She specializes in diseases of and related to Rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren's syndrome, primary and secondary immunodeficiency disorders, sarcoidosis, and Paget's disease. She is double boarded in Rheumatology and Allergy and Immunology and has a translational/basic science background in immunology and autoimmunity that has concentrated on dysregulated leukocyte trafficking and Th1/17 regulation in animal models of autoimmunity and in patients with immune-mediated rheumatic illness or immunodeficiency. Her lab has concentrated on chemokine receptor regulation by intracellular kinases and regulators of G protein signaling, with particular focus on their effects in immune cell regulation, metabolic bone disease, migration, and differentiation. She also participates in clinical translational studies of Sjogren's syndrome, sarcoidosis, and immunodeficiency disorders. She has additionally participated in collaborative research related to advancing imaging strategies of inflammation, therapeutic delivery of novel pharmacologic compounds in rheumatoid arthritis, and single cellular analysis in inflammatory arthritis disease models.
