This session will review the developmental changes in musculoskeletal structures and its impact on the identification of pathology when using ultrasound in pediatric versus adult patients.
Learning Objectives:
Identify the normal sonoanatomy of common musculoskeletal structures including but not
limited to bone, muscle, joint recess, tendon, ligament, nerve, articular cartilage.
Describe the developmental changes in musculoskeletal structures when using ultrasound in the
evaluation of pediatric versus adult patients.
Articulate the sonographic appearance of various musculoskeletal pathologies including but not
limited to joint effusion, synovitis, tenosynovitis, tendinopathy, bursitis, erosion
