This session will focus on advanced scanning techniques for knee ultrasound to identify sonographic features that may help differentiate between osteoarthritis, calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease, and gout.
Learning Objectives:
Review practical scanning technique of the normal knee
Identify sonographic features of knee osteoarthritis
Recognize various windows to evaluate Doppler signal in knee synovium (suprapatellar,
parapatellar, medial and lateral joint recess)
Identify Sonographic features calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease in the knee
Contrast ultrasound finding of CPPD vs Gout findings in the knee
