Rheumatologists frequently treat diseases with skin involvement, but much of our training is not focused on the skin. This leaves us with a deficit in knowledge on how to holistically manage our patients, which becomes particularly concerning when there is no dermatologist support with which to comanage our patients. Along with this, many rheumatologists are unable to recognize rheumatic disease on skin of color, which the ACR has recognized and sought ways to address. This session aims to help to fulfill that mandate by providing a lecture and access to dermatologists with expertise in diseases in skin of color and systemic sclerosis and its mimics. We will also look at the updates in management of psoriasis from a dermatologist’s perspective, which may differ from the way we approach patients with musculoskeletal involvement.
