The goal of this session is to identify how musculoskeletal ultrasound can be applied in a time efficient and reliable way in pediatric rheumatology practice as well as research. Based on recent publications, use of ultrasound as an imaging biomarker to detect subclinical disease and predict flares will be illustrated. The application of this technique for disease manifestations beyond the joints, including the lung and salivary glands in particular, will also be shown based on recent publications.
