Dr. Michael Pillinger is Professor of Medicine, and Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, at New York University School of Medicine, where he serves as the Director of Rheumatology Training and also directs TREC (Translational Research Education and Careers), the educational unit of the NYU Clinical and Translational Science Institute. Additionally, Dr. Pillinger is Section Chief for Rheumatology at the New York Harbor Health Care System, New York Campus, of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Pillinger completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard, his medical degree at NYU, his internal medicine residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and his rheumatology fellowship back at NYU. His current areas of clinical interest include gout and osteoarthritis, and his areas of scientific interest include inflammation, innate immunity and cell signaling. He has published more than 200 original research articles, reviews and book chapters.
