NIAID’s Autoimmunity Centers of Excellence (ACE) combines basic and clinical research programs to accelerate discovery and translation of therapies for autoimmune diseases. Under the ACE program, testing of clinical interventions for prevention, delay, or improvement of autoimmune diseases is combined with detailed, mechanistic immunological studies to assess factors associated with therapeutic efficacy. This session will present examples of collaborative mechanistic studies by ACE researchers that involve the use of high-level OMICs data to subset patients with the goal of developing simpler precision medicine approaches.
