Primary angiitis of the central nervous system (PACNS) has been increasingly recognized in recent decades, however the diagnosis of this entity remains a challenge in clinical practice. In this session, we will review clinical, laboratory, and imaging biomarkers of PACNS in children and discuss potential pitfalls in diagnosis. We will review novel and advanced neuroimaging techniques in PACNS and the correlation with underlying pathologic processes in the brain. In this session, we will give an overview of treatment of PACNS and a multidisciplinary approach to improve outcomes.
