Novel cellular subsets with nuanced function are changing how we understand molecular pathways that are dysregulated in autoimmunity. Granzyme K-expressing CD8+ T cells are enriched in the rheumatoid arthritis synovium, secrete high levels of interferon gamma, and have been identified as key players in complement activation. The goal of this session is to better define the granzyme-K expressing pathogenic effector cell and its role in innate immune responses contributing to autoimmunity.
